In the past, who liked photograph were the ones in love per cameras. Some books that were focused on this subject had whole chapters about the range of models, approaching equipments such as rangefinder, single-lens reflex and medium format cameras. Films also got a special attention: color, B&W, chrome were fully discussed on their different usage. Almost all these books “revealed” the secrets of the homemade process to the ones who wished to take a chance and then felt excited on printing their own films. This changed with the emergence of digital photograph and much more with the cell phones, now, equipped with cameras more and more improved. Nowadays, cameras are only with those enthusiastic people, being them professionals or amateurs. And there is no problem with that, after all who enjoy a captivating photo is not worried about the equipment used for it. So, when saying that the best equipment is the one that you have, that’s right! And it’s possible to take a photo without having a camera. I will give you an example with the following photo. I was in my apartment, 4th floor in a 4-floor building and from the window I enjoyed the rain that smoothly fell. In this photo, with a transparent umbrella, is my wife, who came to have lunch at home, what is something unusual. When I saw this scene I thought it could be a good photo and after our lunch, when she was walking down the stairs, I took the camera and got back to the window. As soon as she walked at the same point, I took this photo. This is a digital photograph and I converted it to B&W using a great software called “Silver Efex Pro”.
