“We live most of the time inside our mind, in everlasting thoughts. A photography can be an awakening for the feelings when the view sense opens the way for others, bringing comfort or concern, empathy or aversion and so many other possible connections and disconnections. A personal witness, but, transferable, of a concept of beauty, whatever it is”.
Raul Rozados (April, 2019)
My name is Raul Rozados and I’m a photographer since 90s, at Piracicaba/SP – Brazil. I started to study photography in 1996, after graduating in Philosophy at the Methodist University of Piracicaba (UNIMEP). Since 1988 I’m spending my time acting and in 2005 I graduated in Dramatic Arts at the “Conservatório Carlos Gomes” at Campinas/SP – Brazil. Nowadays, I work with the installation of the future Piracicaba’s Museum of Image and Sound. Back in the photography, I was a laboratory worker in the analog process and I’ve owned a domestic lab, where I printed and expanded my B&W films for years. This activity leaded me to work for other photographers. After that, I migrated to the digital and, unfortunately, I discarded most of my old equipments remaining me just a few cameras. Using the digital, I took photos for some dance and drama shows and I’m still photographing events. But my passion for the silver halide salts never cooled down and I still take photos with the photographic film, specially B&W.
After being part of several collective exhibitions, in 2015 I conducted my first individual: “The Rain”. It had been showed in museums, galleries and cultural areas. In my blog, as the own name says, I will bring my photographies and the feeling they provoke me. The idea is to give you an artistic content, not technical.
